On 13 June 2019, in organisation of Directorate for European Integration of Bosnia and Herzegovina, a conference MADE and MED was held in Sarajevo. The event brought together participants of projects that are being implemented in the Balkans within the Interreg MED program. A welcome message was given by director of the Directorate, Edin Dilberović, as well as Tarja Ricard, director of the Managing Authority Interreg MED and Helena Papa and Francesca Marcato from the Joint Secretariat Interreg MED. After presentations of some of the current projects from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Albania, in the afternoon session round tables were conducted about the future cooperation of IPA countries in the Mediterranean program and mutual transfer of results.
In the framework of the project presentation, the representative of Parks Dinarides has presented the INHERIT project, which is being implemented in partnership with 15 countries of the Mediterranean region in the coastal area of Montenegro. The project deals with the development of sustainable tourism in keeping with the preservation of the natural heritage of the coastal area and within the framework of the same research phase, which was related to the collection of available relevant data regarding the current state of the Montenegrin coast. After this, the testing phase begins, which will take place in the area of the Orjen Nature Park in the Herceg Novi bay.
In addition to this, other participants from Montenegro also presented the projects Odeon and Enernetmob. The meeting was also attended by representatives of the Ministry of European Affairs of Montenegro, who are in charge of the MED program. The event was very useful for additional exchange of experiences, opinions and ideas for successful implementation of project activities.
